What they didn’t notice was a stealthy shadow that has been following them since they reached the trenches. Mechi peered out of the panoramic window of the main control room and saw a silhouette of what seemed like a giant squid. Within seconds, the giant squid started wrapping its gigantic tentacles around their vehicle! Bigspea curiously glanced in Mechi’s direction and started blurting out information about this sea creature.
“Name: Giant Squid
Scientific Name: Architeuthis dux
Size Range: 40–60 feet
Habitat: Worldwide
Depth Range: Down to 10,000 feet”
“THIS IS NOT IMPORTANT RIGHT NOW BIGSPEA!!! WHAT IS IMPORTANT IS TO ESCAPE THIS GIANT SQUID’S ATTACK!!!” Mechi screeched.
Bigspea sprung into action and quickly smashed the button that said “full speed”. The vehicle propelled forwards and accelerated at the speed of 300kmph. Unfortunately, it was too late, the giant squid had tightened with its suction cups around the submarine. They started launching the torpedoes at the squid crazily and in all possible directions.
“CURSE CHRISTOPHER X! WHY DOES HE ALWAYS PUT ME IN DANGEROUS MISSIONS LIKE THIS!!!” Mechi complained as he flailed his arms.
The giant squid groaned in pain and gradually let go of the Deep Blue Unit. Mechi and Bigspea did not even have time to catch a breath before an entire school of giant squids emerged from the darkness. They began to aggressively encircle the submarine. Soon, they found themselves surrounded by what looked like a giant squid ‘tornado’. Bigspea use his built-in calculator and estimated that around 4 million giant squids are surrounding them.
Mechi and Bigspea were just about to accept their fate and say their goodbyes to each other. Suddenly, a school of viperfish charged towards the giant squids and began attacking them violently.

Depth Range: 250–5,000 feet”
Yet again, Bigspea blurted out useless information at the wrong time.
Irritated, Mechi shouted, “HOW MANY TIMES DO I NEED TO TELL YOU NOT TO SAY THIS KIND OF INFORMATION AT THE TIME WHERE WE ARE ABOUT TO GET KILLED!!!”
“I can’t help it, boss, I just have the natural tendency to do it, it’s my job by the way,” Bigspea replied helplessly.
“Whatever” Mechi replied as he rolled his eyes.
Mechi and Bigspea sensed this was the opportunity to escape and sprinted towards the exploration pod. The exploration pod was just like a mini-sized submarine, controlled by a retro-style gaming joystick with two large red buttons. One said “Max Speed”, the other said “Self-Destruct”.
As the exploration pod detached from the submarine, multi-colored lights surrounded the body of the exploration pod. As Mechi pressed the “Max Speed” button, the propellers started to spin lightning fast and in a vigorous motion. The exploration pod burst into speed and escaped the breathtaking but horrifying giant squid ‘tornado’.
When the giant squids and viperfishes finally left their sight, the two robots began to feel less tense, and their heart returned to normal.
“Oh my god! That was so close! I thought I was going to die!” Mechi exclaimed in relief.
“Yeah, me too” Bigspea sighed as he collapsed on the chair.
As they were navigating their way home after that fiasco, a neon-lit portal caught their attention. Out of curiosity, Mechi drove the pod near it. A mysterious but horrifying voice echoed out of the portal.
“Mechi, come here” …
